World Famous Lover is about Gautham (Vijay Deverakonda) is a young business graduate whose ambition is to become a celebrated writer. While pursuing his passion, he also falls in love with Yamini (Raashi Khanna), who is also a student at the business management university. The feelings are reciprocated, and they are a happy couple.
The progressive Yamini takes Gutham to her father to seek his blessing for marriage. When the latter doesn’t agree, they decided to stay together in a live-in relationship. However, the world of Gautham and Yamily slowly begins to crumble as the former comes across as slack with progress on his writing. A huge war of words ensures leading to Yamini breaking up with Gautham. How Gautham takes inspiration from the said incident and finds his mojo as a writer and creates heart touching stories and characters forms the crux of the story.
