The Madam Chief Minister Trailer featuring actress Richa Chadha has been released. Produced by T-Series Films and Kangra Talkies, the movie showcases Chadha as a determined political leader who overcomes numerous challenges to rise to power in Uttar Pradesh, India’s most populous state.

The Madam Chief Minister trailer begins with a disclaimer stating that the film is not based on real events. However, it is hard to ignore the similarities between the fictional story and the life of Mayawati, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Like many Bollywood films “inspired” by real-life figures, this movie appears to follow a similar trend.

Directed by Subhash Kapoor, who previously worked on the Jolly LLB series, Madam Chief Minister reflects Kapoor’s political background. In the 1990s, he worked as a political reporter, and his experience from that time seems to have shaped the narrative of this film.

Richa Chadha, discussing her role, shared, “This is an extraordinary tale of an unlikely leader who challenges societal norms and expectations to become a one-of-a-kind chief minister. I feel fortunate to have been given such a complex and rich character. As actors, it’s rare to come across scripts that are this compelling. Through this film, I’ve gained deeper insights into Indian society and politics. I hope the audience finds it as engaging as we did during its creation.
